Nuclear Medicine Research Laboratories

 

The University of Pennsylvania Nuclear Medicine Research services includes the full aray of nuclear medicine imaging, including the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Center and the Single Photon Emission Computer Tomograpy (SPECT) Center.  The PET center, one of the first in the country, was established in 1975 as a research facility for the study of human brain function. It continues to be a leading biomedical research institution with a large program in basic and clinical PET research.  The Nuclear Medicine Research services include a full array of SPECT applications in oncologic imaging, FDG-PET/CT imaging, and access to novel radiotracer PET studies to probe molecular and physiologic aspects of tumor biology.
