Information for Researchers Using the Clinical Imaging Core

The Clinical Imaging Core (CIC) provides guidance to clinical investigators regarding the oversight and management of imaging in human clinical trials.  This section provides guidance instructions for investigators regarding regulatory, budgetary, and logistic aspects of imaging in clinical trials at Penn.

The CIC also provides a number of services for clinical investigators.  For investigator initiated concepts, CIC personnel will discuss the scientific aims with the investigator, and identify imaging experts for additional consultation.  For established protocols the CIC will provide an initial protocol review free of charge.  Upon completion of the review, the CIC will make recommendations regarding CIC services that may be useful for the investigator, and will provide a detailed description of these services the CIC would render in support of the protocol, and the accompanying fees.

It is highly recommended that investigators utilize the consultation and review services of the CIC early in the protocol development and approval process, ideally before budgetary proposal for grants submission or sponsor contracts are completed.
